MUNICIPAL COURT OPERATING ORDER
Effective Date February 23, 2021
WHEREAS, in response to the Declaration of National and State Emergencies following the classification of COVID-19 as a pandemic, this Court, in conjunction with
the Supreme Court of the State of Missouri, has entered orders directing the operation of Ozark Municipal Court proceedings during the crisis; and
WHEREAS, the Supreme Court of the State of Missouri (Supreme Court) issued its order and operational directives effective August 1, 2020. This order provides
Missouri judicial circuits with "operational directives" governing a plan for normalization of court operations and supersedes all previous orders.
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, effective February 23, 2021, and until further order of
this Court, that:
I) The Court has satisfied the Gateway Criteria required to move the next phase
pursuant to the Supreme Court Order.
2) Effective February 23, 2021, this Court will be in Phase One, resuming critical inperson
proceedings and limiting the occupancy rates in courtrooms and other areas in
the court facility to an occupancy rate of 10 people or less and requiring social
distancing protocols, including face mask or coverings in all public court areas and
during all court proceedings, consistent with the Supreme Court Order.
3) The Court encourages judges and court staff will be encouraged to utilize all available
technologies, including telephone or teleconferencing whenever possible to limit the
necessity of any personal appearances by defendants or attorneys.
4) Municipal Clerk's Office employees shall be allowed to work from home as
necessary and directed by the City of Ozark pursuant to its COVID-19 policy.
5) A court cannot proceed from Operating Phase One to Operating Phase Two until it has completed at least fourteen (14) days in Operating Phase One and performed a reevaluation of the Gateway Criteria to ensure readiness to progress.
THESE RESTRICTIONS shall remain in place until further notice.
