Babysitting 101 - 2026
Come participate as The OC puts on a Red Cross Babysitter's training. We will help impart the skills of behavior management and games that can be played with youth while also teaching Red Cross curriculum pieces, including recognizing emergencies, leadership skills, child traits from 0-10, and more! Participants can also sign up for Child and Infant CPR as an add-on. All participants will receive a digital copy of their certification upon class completion. The basic Red Cross Babysitting class with certificate costs $45 for those with an annual family membership and $50 for those without. To add the CPR Class and the certification, the price increases an additional $30 ($75 for annual family members and $80 for non-members). Participants should be between 12-16 years old. Lunch is included. The class is at The OC.
The babysitting portion of class runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with the CPR add-on from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Depending on the pace of the class, it may run over to ensure that the skills are taught entirely and effectively.
