Ozark, Mo. - "I am very excited to announce Eric Johnson has been hired as the new city administrator. He brings a wealth of experience from Blue Springs, Missouri, that will benefit the City of Ozark," said Ozark Mayor Don Currence.
The Board of Aldermen voted at the June 17th meeting to approve the appointment of Eric Johnson as city administrator. Johnson brings more than 35 years of local government experience to Ozark. He spent 16 years as city administrator of Blue Springs, Missouri, in the Kansas City area and previously served as an assistant city administrator for six years. He will begin his duties as Ozark City Administrator on July 15th.
"I am very excited to serve the great community of Ozark as the next city administrator and look forward to working with the mayor, board of aldermen, and community to realize their strategic initiatives for Ozark," said Eric Johnson.
Johnson graduated from the University of Missouri with a master’s degree in public administration. He and his wife Sonja have been married for 29 years and have four children. The family looks forward to enjoying the outdoors in Ozark. Johnson also enjoys playing the guitar and singing.
Johnson will take over the role from Ben DeClue, who has served as interim city administrator since January.
“I want to thank Ben DeClue for the outstanding job he has done these last six months. His leadership, wise counsel, and past work experiences made a perfect bridge to our new city administrator," said Mayor Currence.
