Ozark, Mo. - Two Ozark Police Department Officers have been promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
Sergeant David Bright joined the Ozark Police Department in June of 2022 and was promoted to Corporal in April 2023. Before joining the Ozark Police Department, Sergeant Bright served as a Police Officer for the City of Manteca, California, for nearly 18 years. During his time in California, he served as a Police Officer, Criminal Investigations Detective, Motorcycle Officer, Drone Pilot, Field Training Officer, and an Operator assigned to SWAT. Since joining the Ozark Police Department, Sergeant Bright has served as a Field Training Officer, Drone Pilot, and Motorcycle Officer. Sergeant Bright will be assigned as the unit supervisor for the Traffic Enforcement Unit, Special Operations Division.
Sergeant Cory Turner joined the Ozark Police Department in June of 2017 and was promoted to Corporal in April 2023. Sergeant Turner has served as a Police Officer, Drone Pilot, Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor, Criminal Investigations Detective, and Field Training Officer for the Ozark Police Department. Before joining the Ozark Police Department, Sergeant Turner served as a Firefighter for the Battlefield Fire Protection District for many years and as a Deputy with the Christian County Sheriff's Office. Sergeant Turner has over 12 years of law enforcement experience. Sergeant Turner will be assigned as a squad supervisor in the Field Services Division.
