Garrison Springs Community Forest Opens to the Public

Garrison Springs

Ozark, Mo. - The City of Ozark is thrilled to announce the opening of the Garrison Springs Community Forest.

This revitalized gem represents Ozark’s history and showcases and conserves its natural beauty, native ecosystems, and geological features. Unlike conventional park settings, this site prioritizes maintaining its natural state, offering visitors a chance to connect with Ozark’s heritage and environment in a truly authentic way.

Acquired in March 2021 with the help of a grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation Land Conservation Partnership and a Federal Forestry Grant, Garrison Springs Community Forest will forever be accessible to the public. It is poised to become a cornerstone of Ozark's community.

The property continues to showcase parts of its rich heritage, including the barn, carriage house, smokehouse, trout pond, and a network of springs. Garrison Branch, a charming stream on the property, meanders through the valley floor and feeds into the Finley River, which eventually flows into the James River.

The park has been thoughtfully designed to enhance your visit with a range of amenities, including:

  • An ADA-compliant parking lot and concrete path
  • A scenic walking trail
  • A lookout platform offering views of the springs
  • An expansive green space for relaxation and recreation, including a dedicated picnic area

The City of Ozark invites you to explore and enjoy the natural beauty and historical intrigue of Garrison Springs Community Forest. For more details about the park and its opening, please visit the City of Ozark’s official website or contact the Parks & Recreation Department.

Come discover the heart of Ozark’s natural and historical heritage at Garrison Springs Community Forest!
