Ozark, Mo. - In May 2024, the City of Ozark, through Great Lakes Marketing Research, distributed 5,000 community surveys to randomly selected residents and all 430 listed businesses in Ozark. As part of the outreach, a few weeks after the surveys were mailed, the resident survey was made available online to everyone. We are pleased to share the results of these surveys with the community.
A total of 1,099 residents and 94 businesses participated. The key findings are as follows:
- Quality of Life: 67% of residents rated Ozark’s quality of life as high, with nearly half of respondents highlighting the importance of parks, greenways, and trails in contributing to this positive assessment.
- Finley River Development: Both residents and businesses showed strong interest in developing the Finley River as a key destination.
- Entertainment and Dining: Residents under fifty expressed a desire for more entertainment venues, and there was significant support for adding more sit-down restaurants.
- Senior Living: About 50% of residents over seventy advocated for a focus on developing senior living communities.
- Use Tax: 40% of residents and 38% of businesses indicated they would support a Use Tax to fund infrastructure improvements. Businesses preferred using these funds for police services and street maintenance, while residents favored street repairs and investments in parks and trails.
