Ozark, Mo. - In September 2024, Ozark Mayor Don Currence signed a proclamation designating the week of September 28 to October 4 as Missouri Good Neighbor Week in the City of Ozark. This initiative encourages residents to engage in events and activities to strengthen community ties and foster connections with neighbors.
The 2024 Missouri Good Neighbor Week goal is ambitious: 20,000 Acts of Neighboring reported across the state. Residents are encouraged to participate by lending a hand, sharing a laugh, or simply waving hello.
Mayor Currence stated, "Research shows that neighborhoods are vital to creating safe, healthy, and inclusive communities. I call upon the people of Ozark to join me in introducing yourself and getting to know your neighbors."
Citizens are also encouraged to shine a spotlight on those unsung heroes in their lives by nominating neighbors who have gone above and beyond. "Let’s celebrate the kindness that makes our community special and be an example of what it means to be good neighbors!" Mayor Currence added.
