Your Government
Ozark is considered a Fourth-Class City, which means it follows certain rules laid out in Missouri's Revised Statutes. These rules cover how the city is set up, who needs to be in charge, and what everyone's responsibilities are.
In Ozark, the city is divided into three areas called wards. Each ward elects one Aldermen candidate every year, but they serve for two years at a time.
To make things fair, each ward should have about the same number of people living in it. Courts have decided that this number should be within 10 percent of the ideal number to keep things balanced.
